Biography

Born in Okinawa, Maeda began his musical studies in Japan at the Showa University of Music under the guidance of Ken Matsuura. He later continued his studies with renowned opera singers Paride Venturi and Antonino Siragusa in Milan, Italy. His performance career spans not only Japan but also Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Bangkok, and Europe. He has performed in Seoul for an event that was broadcast globally. His most regular performances take place in Tokyo, especially at the New National Theater Tokyo, collaborating with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, and performing in prestigious concert halls.

In 2011, one of the most memorable moments in his career was performing alongside his teacher, Antonino Siragusa, in G. Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia. Maeda also won the Grand Prize at the 4th Mrs. Butterfly International Competition held in Nagasaki. Beyond opera, he has collaborated with renowned Irish pianist and arranger Anders Wihk, releasing albums such as Prayer (2007), Infinito (2018), and On Its Way (2020), the latter of which was recorded in Kuala Lumpur.

Fluent in Japanese, English, Korean, and Italian, Maeda brings a unique international touch to his singing and teaching. His ability to perform effortlessly in multiple languages, combined with his powerful voice and deep emotional expression, has made him one of the most flexible and beloved opera singers.

Currently residing in Okinawa, Maeda now exclusively offers online lessons to high-grade students. His teaching style is world-acclaimed, bringing a wealth of international experience and operatic mastery to his students, ensuring they receive top-tier vocal training from one of the best in the field.
